A Talk About Tea Business By " Mr. Zhang" ( Baifu Cang Cang " Tea brand Owner)

If a friend asked me an advice about business and in return I tell him that don’t care about the money and neither about how fast your business is growing he might think I am mad or crazy and to some extent he is correct, but this is how it works in case of tea business. In this article I will try to present the words of owner of “Baifu Cang Cang”, Mr. Zhong that he shared with his audience on 29th December during the annual conference about tea business.

He is obviously so much experienced in his field so these words worth a lot for those who wants to start a tea business. At start he said that “ there are almost 30 million tea farmers and workers currently functional in china , tea expo are held in lot of provinces in china but still we can’t see so many tea houses around us as Starbucks, although the Starbucks don’t have this much men strength as tea industry have but still industry is lagging behind, Starbucks has total revenue of almost 2.47 Billion USD and tea industry is far behind this, so there must be something we are lacking in this business.  An average tea farmer can only earn 3000 yuan annually, proving that tea industry is really not developed there is a lot to be done in this field, today we will talk about “Why isn’t tea industry on top although 30 million people produce tea and its also a valuable product then what are the reasons tea business is not on the top ?”.



While continuing hi speech he said that One of the reasons it not a very developed industry is that tea industry is thinking about making quick money by establishing a lot of new brands, that actually degrades the quality and real value of tea. All the brands are good but some ways they use to make tea are not the proper ways. He the asked the audience “What is the biggest problem In tea industry? The audience answer differently saying no quality, no standardization, no representation and the correct answer Mr. Zhong told us was Making Quick money, it is the biggest industry, if you make it business you will surely over step a lot of things that keep this business alive. So tea industry should be slow, and its not like technology industry where you have to be fast or you will be left behind, it is an industry where you have to be slow or you will be left behind”. For this industry you must start right from the base and understand every aspect, its cultural value, and if you haven’t placed the good base in this field you won’t stand for a long time.



He further explained the tea business with suitable and interesting examples to the audience saying that “A lot of young people just want the topping of the cake without building the base of cake, but they should understand the fact that the topping doesn’t exist without the base”.


He gave the analogy of tea tree with tea business which fits it perfectly. He said “Every tea tree gives us a lesson about tea business also, when you sow a seed for tea tree for the first three years that only grows up to a delicate plant , in these years it develops its system try to make its root as deep in soil as possible, and then after three years it start growing so rapidly and producing good quality tea leaves . Tea business should also work in same way for first few years we should try to understand the value of tea, the emotions of people who are going to be your future customers , the great history and culture related to tea and once you understand these you will know how make the best quality tea the touches the hearts of people and your business will cherish so quickly automatically “.


Towards the end of his lecture about this topic he advised the audience that to make your brand valuable you should be sincere and honest, program your brand in a way that move hearts of people, that touches people emotionally. Your brand should be real and pure and there must be something in it that makes it rare one.


It can be clearly seen from his words that how much tea culture and tea means to him, he followed these paths and today he is owner of most prestigious tea brand and loved by a lot people, they respect him because his tea brand touched the hearts of people.
